What to Bring – Learn about Florida's documentation requirements for residents renewing or obtaining a new driver license or identification card. For office visits, you must bring original documents that prove your identity, social security number and residential address. Visit www.flhsmv.gov to create your own personal checklist of what you need to bring with you before you make the trip.

Driver License Services
The Tax Collector's Office is a Full Service Driver License Agent.
- We issue original Florida Driver Licenses, Identification Cards and Temporary Permits. Please Note: Be sure to bring proper identification with you.
- Real ID is a nationwide effort to improve the security of State-issued driver licenses and identification cards, which helps fight terrorism and reduce fraud.
- We provide written and driving tests daily. Written tests are offered until 4 p.m. Please plan to give yourself sufficient time for testing. Hazmat applicants must be here in time to test and be processed. Road tests are available by appointment only. Make a road test appointment.
- Get Driver handbooks online.
- The main office location is a full service driver license agent including reinstatements, information on obtaining a hardship driver license, Immigrants and Non-Immigrants. Non-Immigrant applications are not accepted after 4:30. Branch offices provide limited driver license service; original Florida issuance, renewal, address change, replacements, and Florida Identification cards.
- You may apply to register to vote when you receive a Florida Driver License or Identification Card.
- For changes in the driver license laws, please visit www.flhsmv.gov.
- For international driver licenses you must contact your local AAA (American Automobile Association).
Drivers Education Course
The St. Johns County Tax Collector in cooperation with the St. Johns County School Board will be providing Driver Education Classes at all St. Johns County public High Schools during the school year. Please see our Driver Education page.
Motorcycle Endorsement Requirement
